In a unexpected crossover event that challenges traditional predictions, the game developer has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Revealed

According to the official release, "A strange encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden group.

The questline focuses on "peculiar tests and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Metamorphoses

The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Bonus Features

Players who finish the quest will receive an unique katana together with several artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Update

This update also adds the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
